Mike Reagen’s career has been equally divided among university administration, metropolitan & community development and county/state human services management. He has served as the CEO of the largest business organization in Iowa, a Cabinet Officer to three State Governors and the Sr. Vice President of a University. Retired from full employment in September 2013, he current consults with and advises several Florida organizations and serves as Ambassador to Collier County for the Florida Association of Retired Persons [AARP] which enjoys a 2.8 M membership to Collier County [340,000 population and 28,000 AARP members] and serves on the Board of The Community School of Naples, the Regional Advisory Council [RAC], Trauma Center of Lee Memorial Healthcare System which serves the five-county Southwest Florida Region [1 M population], and the Naples Players Association, Sugden Theatre.
He served as a member of the six-person Naples Fire/North Naples Fire Cooperation Committee, Chairs the Collier Injury Prevention Coalition, Chairs the Collier Anti-Fraud Task Force and is Ex Officio Board Member of The Partnership for Collier’s Future Economy which he helped found. Reagen currently is a Citizen Member of the Editorial Board of The Fort Myers News Press [Gannett], the leading newspaper in Southwest Florida.
